COVID-19 in Latin America: Local Innovations and Solutions to Combat the Pandemic

Join experts, development practitioners, and social entrepreneurs for a discussion of local innovations to combat the coronavirus pandemic in the Latin America and the Caribbean region, including telemedicine in Jamaica (MDLink), an app for contact tracing in Ecuador (Grupo Link & Kin Analytics), and low-cost ventilators in Colombia (InspiraMed with Ruta N).

John Monahan, senior advisor for global health to Georgetown President John J. DeGioia, will give the welcome remarks. Cesar Buenadicha and Ruth Houliston of the IDB Lab at the Inter-American Development Bank will provide an overview of the innovation competition and regional context, followed by the presentations. Elaina Faust (G’21) will moderate the discussion.
