Futuremakers Forum 2022

Lifting Participation

Through thought leading research, employee volunteering and a two-day global Futuremakers Forum we will deepen our understanding of how to unleash the full potential of women and small businesses in our core markets to improve the lives of millions of people and their communities.

Building on the knowledge that many young people, women and micro-businesses struggle to access and fully benefit from formal financial systems, in 2022 we will focus on this critical theme. The outcomes will help us better connect capital, people, ideas and best practices to help address the significant socio-economic challenges and opportunities of our time.
Global Impact

The Bank works with more than 100,000 Futuremakers participants per year, including the unbanked, new employees, subsistence and set-to-grow entrepreneurs.

To better understand young people’s financing gaps, Business Fights Poverty recently conducted a survey amongst 1270 young people with Standard Chartered Bank and Murray Edwards College, University of Cambridge. The resulting research paper will be shared in the run up to the Forum.  It will inform the Futuremakers’ strategy to lift participation through financial inclusion across its programmes and business partnerships.

Futuremakers Forum 2022 will:
Raise the voices of young people – specifically Futuremakers participants and young women
Provide opportunities for Bank colleagues to give back to young people and young entrepreneurs
Raise awareness of what Futuremakers is and the impact it has on young people
