A Call to Action on how innovation commercialisation could be improved in Botswana, with learnings transferred to other Southern African countries using the UB Digital Entrepreneurship Pod (DEP)-EU partnership.

About the organizers

Africa RISE (Reform for Investment and Sustainable Economies) is a technical assistance facility funded by the European Union and implemented by a consortium led by Landell Mills. Its aim is to promote business development and improve the investment climate in Eastern Africa, Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean in support of inclusive and sustainable growth, job creation and decent work.

The Digital Entrepreneurship and Innovation Pod is a project of the University of Botswana Digitization Office, which was established by the University of Botswana to implement its strategic vision of ‘Creating a future for the knowledge generation”. It was introduced within the university value chain model to translate the university’s areas of its academic services of Teaching & Learning, Research, Innovation and Engagement from a service-based outcome to a practical industrial outcome (development of products) that would contribute to the establishment of new technologies and enterprises.
