Project Development Under the Paris Agreement
Article 6 of the Paris Agreement ushered in a new era for carbon markets. With the decisions adopted at COP29 in 2024, Article 6 is now largely operational.
But what does this mean in practice for those developing activities?
Join this masterclass to learn what it takes to develop an Article 6 project. Over three hours, we’ll cover in detail topics including the key actors and steps, the role of authorisation, how additionality testing and baseline determination are changing, and the main sources of demand for Article 6 projects and what this implies for project developers. We’ll also see how this is playing out on the ground by looking at real life examples. There’ll be lots of time to answer participant questions.
This masterclass will be led by Hanna-Mari Ahonen, Senior Consultant at Perspectives Climate Group. Hanna-Mari has worked in carbon markets since 2002 and has extensive experience with projects under the CDM, Joint Implementation and Article 6. Don’t miss this chance to learn from a world-leading expert on Article 6!
A detailed agenda will be shared with registered participants before the event.
This masterclass series is part of Gold Standard’s Enabling National Ownership in a High-Integrity Carbon Market programme supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action of Germany (BMWK).
