The Center for Financial Inclusion (CFI) convenes FIW each year and invites partner organizations to showcase work, share ideas on what’s ahead and engage with the community.
The focus of FIW 2021 is on how COVID-19 has exposed the fragility of the global economy, with low-income households and small businesses bearing the brunt of the pandemic’s economic impact. The crisis ushered in a new era of digitalization, from the distribution of social payments to businesses adapting to sell products online or accept digital payments. This is in addition to systemic challenges of gender inequality in financial services, climate change, and data risks.
