Solutions Journalism and Gender Equity in the Media
Designed to foster a more holistic and nuanced understanding of gender equity issues, this virtual, four-hour interactive training session supported by Solutions Journalism Network (SJN)’s Global Female Trainers Fund aims to equip media professionals with the tools and know-how necessary to effectively report on gender equity topics using a solutions-focused approach.
Beyond imparting skills for reporting on gender equity, this interactive training intends to empower mid-level journalists to embrace solution-driven narratives, foster constructive storytelling that propels positive change, and champion diversity and inclusivity in media coverage of gender equity matters, consequently engendering a more equitable and balanced representation in the media landscape.
To apply for this training, you must have:
- A minimum of 4 years of journalism experience
- Possess basic knowledge of Solutions Journalism, this includes understanding the principles and practices of solutions journalism.
- Residents of all African countries are welcome to apply.
- Applications from women are given priority consideration. However, men are also encouraged to apply and will be considered on a competitive basis.
