USAID Investments in Implementation Research for Universal Health Coverage

USAID’s Asia Bureau, through the Health Finance and Governance (HFG) project, has been working in Burma and Indonesia to build local capacity for using implementation research as a tool to design and improve systems that support universal health coverage (UHC).

This briefing will discuss how to make implementation research tangible and accessible to donors, researchers, and country stakeholders pursuing UHC in different country contexts. Using lessons learned from Burma and Indonesia – two countries at different stages of the journey to reach UHC – we will discuss the challenges of context, timing, and organizational structure when planning implementation research for UHC, as well as how to encourage the use of implementation research findings to strengthen UHC-related policies and their implementation.

This event will take place at the USAID Global Health Bureau and will be live streamed through Adobe Connect.
