Their latest effort, called 25,000 Women, harnesses Kiva’s microlending platform to support female entrepreneurs in El Salvador, Kenya, Mongolia, Pakistan and the Philippines.

Kenyans transferred US$18.1 billion using mobile money in 2012
Mobile money transfer services continue to grow in Kenya, with transactions growing by 32.8 per cent to KSh1.538 trillion (US$18.1 billion) from KSh1.169 trillion (US$13.75 billion) in 2011.
