Scojo Foundation is a global social enterprise, currently operating in 13 countries, which creates jobs and sustains livelihoods through the sale of affordable reading glasses to the 700 million people who require clear, up-close vision to read and work.

Scojo Foundation trains low-income men and women as “Scojo Vision Entrepreneurs” to start microfranchises that conduct vision screenings within local communities, sell affordable reading glasses, and refer those who require advanced eye care to reputable clinics.

Position Description:
The COO is responsible for the leadership and management of Scojo Foundation’s global operations team and the achievement of Scojo Foundation’s operational and sales objectives. The position is a key member of the senior management team and is actively involved in shaping the future direction of the organization.Duties and Responsibilities:
? Provide overall leadership and supervision to the global operations team. Directly manage a team of Country Directors, Franchise Partner Managers and Consultants.
? Set annual goals in partnership with senior management team.
? Manage and grow sales channels for reading glasses throughout the developing world.
? Create and manage annual operations plans and budgets.
? Oversee product development and manage relationships with manufacturers in China and India.
? Manage and grow strategic partnerships.
? Oversee a global-supply chain.
? Ensure compliance to appropriate legal and accounting norms.
? Manage and continually enhance global information technology systems, including accounting and performance management platforms.
? Manage the flow of information from the operations team to senior management and the development team to meet reporting requirements.
? Represent Scojo Foundation by attending and speaking at different forums as required. Network with other social enterprises working in Base of the Pyramid (BoP) markets to find areas of collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Candidate Requirements:
? A minimum of ten years of professional experience, including salesforce management, with a minimum of five years in a senior management capacity
? MBA preferred
? Demonstrated success working closely with and building relationships with staff, partnerships, investors and a Board of Directors
? Prior success growing an organization
? Willingness to live in India
? Extensive international experience and enthusiasm for different cultures
? Eagerness to travel regularly to locations with limited infrastructure
? Desire to execute an innovative sales and marketing strategy for a social purpose and to achieve ambitious targets
? Energetic, innovative and resourceful self-starter
? Tenacious work ethic and a sense of urgency in solving problems
? Approaches challenging situations with humor and goodwill
? Ease in relating to a diverse audiences
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
? Proficiency in a foreign language preferred
