About the Company


Founded in 2013, Odyssey Sensors is a UK registered social enterprise that designs, builds, and distributes innovative sensor devices & network equipment. Our first two products are extremely low-cost sensors for small-plot aquaculture and agriculture operations to increase productivity for low-income farmers while mitigating environmental damage. The company was started by students from Oxford University and has been recognized in such publications as Popular Mechanics and IEEE, as well as winning the Tata Idea Idol Entrepreneurship competition and the Skoll Social Venture Award, among others.

About the Role


Seeking a full-time team member to serve as our Technical Project Manager to begin work immediately overseeing and coordinating product development, testing, and delivery. Strong experience with electrical and mechanical product design, radios, mesh networking, and manufacturing is desired. This position ideally to be located in Australia includes the following responsibilities and prerequisites:

Responsibilities


  • Oversee and manage the technical development of current and new devices

  • Interface with manufacturers and manufacturing representatives

  • Routine travel to SE Asia (initially Bangladesh) to represent Company with customers and partners

  • Oversee the beta testing and analysis for products before they are released to market

  • Lead the efforts of team expansion if and when necessary

 

Minimum qualifications


  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience, preferably with a background in engineering

  • 4 years’ work experience or exceptional demonstration of ability to bring technical products to commercial readiness

  • Multicultural or international experience in a business or technical context

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work with a high level of autonomy

  • Exceptional work ethic and drive to put in the necessary hours to “get the job done”

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to create effective relationships, influence and collaborate internally 

Preferred qualifications


  • Experience managing commercial hardware, especially sensing, networking, and communications
  • Experience within an early stage company and wearing many hats
  • Experience collaborating with senior executives across dispersed organizations

Compensation


  • Competitive financial compensation package. Commensurate with experience.
