Press Release: WDI, Africa Health Tech Summit Announce Strategic Partnership to Advance Health Innovation & Entrepreneurship in Africa

The Africa Health Tech Summit and WDI have formed a long-term knowledge and media partnership to accelerate sustainable health innovation and entrepreneurship across Africa.

The collaboration establishes WDI as a summit and knowledge partner for the Africa HealthTech Summit (AHTS), a premier Pan-African platform convening innovators, policymakers, investors, and business leaders to drive health sector transformation. The partnership focuses on co-creating thought leadership in entrepreneurship, health innovation and scale-up, health financing, and public-private partnerships.

WDI will collaborate with DALA Group, which manages the Africa Health Tech Summit, to jointly shape and accelerate the health-tech ecosystem in Africa through evidence-based insights, curate purpose driven ecosystem convenings – including AHTS Rwanda 2026 and AHTS Canada 2026, and drive meaningful South – North partnerships.

The partnership also includes a media collaboration with WDI’s NextBillion platform, which will provide coverage and analysis of AHTS events, while amplifying insights on health innovation and entrepreneurship across emerging markets.

Jean Philbert Nsengimana, Lead – Africa Health Tech Summit noted: “WDI brings world-class expertise in entrepreneurship and emerging markets development. This partnership will enhance the intellectual rigor and global reach of the Africa HealthTech Summit while creating lasting knowledge and insights for the ecosystem.”

The collaboration represents a significant step in building bridges between academic research, entrepreneurial ecosystems, and investment communities focused on Africa’s health sector development.

“We’re excited by the opportunity to leverage our deep technical expertise alongside African innovators who are addressing critical gaps in health care quality, access and equity,” said Wendy Taylor, WDI President and CEO. “Together with AHTS’s convening power, we’re creating innovation ecosystems that are locally driven and globally connected.”
