Payal Shah is a business development manager in Acumen Fund's India office. Payal began her career with McKinsey & Co at their Knowledge Centre in India where she managed their Media & Entertainment sector research. Subsequently, she caught the early stage investing itch and spent five years at Sequoia Capital in India – starting with roles ranging from research and business development, she ultimately became a part of their investment team. Payal left Sequoia to pursue her entrepreneurial dream to create an online referral focused recruitment firm – here she contributed to building out various new financial services verticals from scratch.

FWO is a not-for-profit which provides free plastic surgery services for the underprivileged in India, in association with Interplast Germany. She has received a degree in business administration from Symbiosis University in Pune.
