Asad Mahmood, CEO of Social Investment Managers & Advisors, LLC (SIMA), is one of the longest-serving fund managers in the impact investment space. Before SIMA, Asad spent nearly two decades as a Managing Director for Global Social Investment Funds at Deutsche Bank, where he managed financing exceeding USD 2 billion. He has spearheaded various initiatives, including drafting the first client protection principles for the microfinance industry and the initial code of conduct for the off-grid solar sector. Additionally, he has been instrumental in forming several key associations, such as the Association of Emerging Impact Asset Managers (AEIMs). Asad’s leadership extends to several influential roles: he was a founding board member of the Microfinance Information Exchange (MIX), an advisory council member for Social Investments for the World Economic Forum, a working committee member of the Global Off-Grid Lighting Association (GOGLA), and an advisory board member for Enterprise Community Partners.
