Nanno Kleiterp

Nanno Kleiterp is a renowned leader in development finance, celebrated for his impactful tenure as CEO of FMO and Chairman of the European Development Finance Institutions (EDFI). A graduate in sociological economics from the University of Groningen in 1979, he began his career at FMO as SME Manager and rose through the ranks to become CFO, CIO and eventually CEO in 2008. After dedicating nearly three decades to FMO, he continued his mission for sustainable development as Chairman of EDFI. He is also the author of Banking for a Better World, a thought-provoking book that champions the creation of a sustainable future by aligning profit with impact and fostering positive change through purpose-driven finance.
