Oscar Garza is Principal and Co-Lead of Agriculture and Food Systems Practice at Open Capital, spearheading the firm’s work to advance agrifood systems’ transformation across Africa. He has 10 years of experience in management consulting and finance, including 6+ years working in African agriculture. Oscar collaborates with development partners, foundations, agribusinesses and investors to conduct extensive food system assessments, formulate institutional strategies, and design and implement impactful agrifood market interventions. He is passionate about advancing climate-smart agriculture, building farmer-inclusive value chains and bridging the agri-finance gap, among others.

Oscar joined Open Capital from McKinsey & Company, where he supported leading businesses and the public sector across the healthcare, education, banking, insurance, energy and CPG sectors. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
