Pooja works as a researcher for Centre for Development Finance’s Rural Market Insight team (RMI) in Chennai, India. RMI seeks to improve the impact of market-based solutions through rigorous qualitative research methods and innovative problem-solving approaches. By delivering deep and actionable insight into consumer behaviors and trends, RMI works directly with social enterprises, investors and organizations in mainly the energy and water sectors. Pooja’s work is driven by her interest in finding synergies between the public and private sectors to impact global development.

Pooja moved to move to India as a member of the 2008-2009 William J. Clinton Fellowship class through the American India Foundation. Based in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh she helped manage a livelihoods program benefitting disadvantaged urban slum and rural youth.Here, Pooja worked on developing community awareness initiatives and growth strategy with AIF for similar vocational training programs throughout India.

Previously, Pooja worked as a strategic planner in the Marketing Communications department at Apple Inc. in California. She holds a B.A. in Psychology and Spanish from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
