At least one in five Mexicans lives in rural poverty, isolated from the inputs and financial services that can boost output and incomes. A recent workshop in Mexico, "Innovations in Rural Value Chains," organized by Ashoka in collaboration with Fundemex and hosted at Business School IPADE, showcased a half-dozen pioneers in market-based approaches.

2010Danone’s Social Innovation Lab: The Business-Social Congruence
I was part of Danone’s annual Social Innovation Lab (SIL) last week in Saint-Denis, a suburb of Paris. SIL gathered over executives from around the world to learn about social business projects fostered by various company business units, inspire new ones and brainstorm on transversal issues to accelerate social innovation.
