Stephanie Schmidt

Stephanie worked for four years in the Ashoka Global team, helping the launch and expansion of the Full Economic Citizenship (FEC) initiative.She is now leading this initiative in Mexico, engaging social and business entrepreneurs to innovate and collaborate together to address needs of low-income populations using a market-based approach. The focus of the initiative in Mexico has so far been on improving markets for small farmers, as consumers of technology, input and financial services, as well as producers; priority sectors for the initiative also include housing and health. Prior to Ashoka, Stephanie was in Rwanda for two years where she worked with small farmers in a development program to produce and market organic essential oils;she also oversaw World Relief’s development programs including HIV/ AIDS and Child Survival. Stephanie started her career as a management consultant working with Deloitte Consulting in Paris and Boston. She holds a Master of Business Administration from ESSEC Business School in France.
