The Asia-Pacific Housing Forum Innovation Awards celebrates emerging innovation that promotes affordable, resilient housing.
- “Affordable” is defined as providing housing solutions that are directly accessible and affordable to the poorest and most vulnerable.
- “Resilient” refers to the capacity of homes to recover from and cope with various pressures. This includes the ability to withstand natural hazards, contribute to healthier living conditions, and avoid unnecessary and disruptive relocations.
- “Housing” refers to a home of an individual, family, or other unit in any tenure status (e.g. owner occupied, rental, etc.) in the urban or rural context.
Finalists from each category will be chosen from the applications received. The finalists will be flown to Bangkok to present their innovation in person and will be given a space during the Housing Forum to present materials related to their submission. The organizers will shoulder the cost of travel to Bangkok, accommodation and meals.
From the finalists, a final winner from each category will be announced at the Asia-Pacific Housing Forum Networking Dinner on September 18, 2019. Each winner will receive an award and a cash prize of US$5,000.
Who should apply?
All individuals, companies, institutions and partnership projects are eligible for the various award categories. Priority will be given to initiatives that support the Asia and Pacific region.
