The World Ocean Summit & Expo
Registration is now open
Lisbon, Portugal is a city—and country—leading the way in advancing the sustainable ocean economy. The World Ocean Summit returns to Lisbon for its eleventh edition in 2024, following last year’s success.
The summit convenes the widest cross-section of the ocean community from business and finance to government, national and international policymakers, civil society and academia. The event is designed to spur action for a sustainable ocean economy and encourage new partnerships across industries with NGOs, scientists, technology developers and investors. By bringing together all stakeholders in the ocean community, the summit provides the perfect platform to inspire new relationships, solutions and strategies on the track to meet the 2030 targets in UN SDG 14.
The 2024 agenda
The summit agenda will focus on ocean health, with industry strategies to accelerate the sustainable ocean economy and ocean-climate solutions. All tracks will feature speakers and sessions on investment and innovative financial tools to drive the restoration of ocean health.
Sessions will move between high-level policy discussions in the plenary sessions, a detailed focus on ocean-based industries and practical solutions to the ocean crisis in the track sessions, and hands-on interaction in the “How to” working group sessions. The “How to” working groups are new for 2024 and will create a set of action points and practical takeaways for individuals and organisations committed to restoring ocean health.
