This program is implemented by Convergence with the support of Global Affairs Canada.
What to expect at the launch:

- A breakdown of A4FM’s three core components
- Details about the application process for the A4FM and insight into how to apply, eligibility criteria, and evaluation criteria
In addition to key insights, the virtual launch will feature a panel discussion on the role and value of blended finance for institutional fund and asset managers. Webinar: TECH4Resilience Challenge – Harnessing AI to Tackle Climate and Humanitarian Crises
The climate crisis is no longer a distant threat; it is a present and growing reality. After years shaped by pandemics, extreme weather events, financial crises, conflict, and food shocks, communities, particularly in the Global South, remain on the frontlines of escalating global challenges. Women and young people, in particular, continue to bear the brunt of these interconnected crises. Advancements in technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) offer promising opportunities to develop solutions that respond to disruptions in livelihoods, health systems, and food security with approaches that are locally rooted, scalable, and predictive.
Against this backdrop, together with the Gates Foundation and Trafigura Foundation, we are launching the Technology for Evolving Challenges in Humanitarian Contexts (TECH) 4 Resilience Challenge. TECH aims to identify and support Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven innovations that enhance humanitarian preparedness and response. The challenge is seeking solutions that either mitigate the impacts of extreme climate events in emergency settings or strengthen Anticipatory Action (AA) frameworks to prevent crises before they escalate. Winners will receive a tailored mentoring program, communications support and up to 50,000 USD in funding.
Join us on 19 August at 11:00 AM GMT for a webinar to learn more about TECH, the application process, and to ask any questions you might have.
Speakers:
- Gerald David, Innovation Lead, Global Resilience Partnership
- Jesper Hörnberg, CEO, Global Resilience Partnership
