Unlocking Growth Capital in Africa: Lessons from Uganda’s Deal Flow Facility and What They Mean for Emerging Markets
Details
Across Africa, promising enterprises continue to struggle with the “missing middle” – too big for seed capital, yet too early or risky for traditional investors. Uganda’s Deal Flow Facility (DFF), an initiative by FSD Uganda funded by the EU and supported by the Capital Markets Authority, has been experimenting with a practical model to close this gap through tailored technical assistance, investor matchmaking, and structured deal facilitation.
In this webinar, we explore what is actually working on the ground. We will unpack the DFF’s investment-readiness approach, the realities of engaging both local and global investors, and the lessons emerging from recent deals – including those catalyzed through Sankalp’s platforms, where several DFF-supported enterprises secured investor interest in 2025.
The session will bring together entrepreneurs, investors, and ecosystem players to examine:
- how Africa can build more effective investment pipelines
- what founders need to access risk-aligned capital
- what investors look for in growth-stage businesses
- what other countries can learn from the DFF model
This conversation sets the stage for deeper engagement at the Sankalp Africa Summit 2026, where capital providers and founders will convene to unlock the next wave of investment opportunities.
