Michaella started as a research analyst at Cenfri in 2018. Since joining, she has been involved in work researching the mismatch between migration patterns and remittance flows, and the potential of Biometric technology to facilitate access to financial services in Africa. She is currently positioned within the Remittance team, providing research and guidance to market players on how to improve the accessibility and affordability of formal remittance corridors into and within Africa in a manner which promotes financial inclusion and economic growth.

Prior to Cenfri, she worked within the non-profit space at the Labour Research Service where she provided research on the wage schedule and differentials within various publicly listed companies in South Africa. She also has internship experience working at the South Africa Reserve bank in the Economic Relations and Policy Department, and at Cenfri since 2015.
