Program Associate for International non-profit (North Hollywood)

UCP Wheels for Humanity seeks a full-time Program Associate to support program development and implementation based in North Hollywood, California, USA.

UCP Wheels works to improve the lives of people with disabilities in developing countries. We have been providing wheelchairs and services throughout the world since 1996. UCP Wheels is a non-profit organization under the larger umbrella of United Cerebral Palsy (UCP), the largest network of disability organizations in the US. Over the past 14 years, UCP Wheels has individually delivered nearly 60,000 wheelchairs throughout the world, and has developed programs involving:

· Wheelchair service training

· Production of low-cost wheelchairs and other mobility products

· Physical therapy

· Adaptive sports

· Parent support groups

· Advocacy and policymaking

Position Summary

The Program Associate will report directly to the Program Manager and support international programs. UCP Wheels works in over 10 countries annually and is currently overseeing large-scale USAID-funded programs in Indonesia and El Salvador. The Program Associate will support the implementation and oversight of the Indonesia and El Salvador programs while supporting the overall program needs of UCP Wheels.


· Support program implementation needs including project planning, reporting, budget management and proposal development

· Oversee international programs to ensure they meet the outlined objectives within the defined project timeline

· Maintain and develop relationships with partners and funding agencies

· Manage import and export logistics for current programs throughout the world

· Manage volunteer involvement in programs throughout the world

· Oversee wheelchair clinics throughout the world as needed

· Provide administrative support to the Program Manager

· Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

· Self-motivated and self-directed. Ability to work independently and initiate new activities

· Passion for international development work

· BA/BS in related field

· Computer skills: expertise in Word, Excel, Power Point; experience with Adobe Creative Suite a plus

· Flexibility and ability to prioritize and multi-task

· Strong communication skills both verbally and written

· Willingness to travel to developing countries
