Mark Wien is a co-founder of the Micro Equity Development Fund, a for-profit, social initiative focused on connecting investors with investment opportunities in microfinance, particularly micro-equity. Mark has also been working with the Hybrid Reality Institute, a think tank focused on social and technological innovation and its impact on health, politics, society, and the economy. He recently completed the Postbac Program at Columbia University and is currently applying to medical school. His travel and microfinance work increased his passion for improving access to capital at the base of the pyramid, along with public health initiatives and disease prevention and control in the underdeveloped world. Mark graduated with a BBA from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business in 2008 and worked at Bank of America in its securities division. He currently resides in New York City.
