Alice Magand is a project manager at Hystra. Since 2018, she has worked on deploying inclusive businesses in the private sector, mainly in the areas of last-mile distribution, access to energy and health. Among other thing, she spent six months in Madagascar in 2019 helping a social enterprise in the energy sector develop a new distribution channel to reach last-mile consumers. In 2020, against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, Alice supported a last-mile distributor in Uganda with technical assistance to help it adapt its distribution model. Beyond last-mile distribution, Alice managed a research piece — learning from entrepreneurs — on access to inclusive healthcare, leading to the open-source report “Scaling up Inclusive Healthcare in Low- and Middle-Income Countries”.
Before becoming a consultant, she began her career in civil engineering, managing on-site teams for water and infrastructure projects. As an engineer, she has worked in many countries, from Jamaica to the UK, and has collaborated with public and private partners of over 30 nationalities. Convinced that change at scale must happen within and through the private sector, and looking for more impact in her professional life, Alice decided to join Hystra.
