Alice Magand is a Project Manager at Hystra. Since joining in 2018, she has led strategic consulting assignments across energy access, healthcare, and last-mile distribution for a wide range of clients – from DFIs and global corporates to private foundations and social entrepreneurs.
Over the past five years, her work has focused on healthcare in low- and middle-income countries, primarily in sub-Saharan Africa and South-East Asia. She managed the research behind Hystra’s open-source report “Scaling up Inclusive Healthcare in Low- and Middle-Income Countries” and has supported Sanofi in launching its Impact Fund – from pipeline generation to technical assistance for its portfolio of inclusive healthcare ventures.
Earlier in her career at Hystra, Alice gained first-hand experience of the realities of running a business in sub-Saharan Africa, spending six months in Madagascar helping a solar company launch a new last-mile distribution channel – which has since become the company’s main business line, generating several million USD in annual sales.
Before consulting, Alice began her career in civil engineering, managing on-site teams for water and infrastructure projects across multiple countries, from Jamaica to the UK, alongside public and private partners of over 30 nationalities. She holds a Master’s in Engineering from Ecole des Mines de Douai and a certificate from Ecole Polytechnique de Montréal.
